The Remix

The Chemistry Behind Fast Twitch
In fast twitch training your body relies on the breakdown of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), creatine phosphate and glycosis.  In the absence of oxygen (anaerobic training) these three sources of energy are depleted rapidly, and pyruvic acid forms from glucose and is reduced to lactic acid.  This system will become depleted in approximately 8 seconds, depending highly on the intensity of the lift or interval, and slowing due to lactic acid buildup occurs.  This build up is a sign of fast twitch muscle fatigue, and while improved lactic tolerance, increased quick energy stores and proper nutrition can aid in improving the rate at which fast twitch fibers fatigue, ALLMAX Nutrition can help you now.
