Since 2003, I have made the trek to “Sin City” just about every year in order to take part in the Olympia Weekend, either as fan/spectator/industry insider or as part of a “team.” However, this year was extra special for me.Not only did I have several of my athletes competing in the shows (both amateur and pro), I also attended all of the major events — and for the first time was able to work together with my ALLMAX family at our booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
So now that I am home and can relax in front of my computer with the events of the past weekend fresh in my mind, I can tell you a little more about my awesome time in Vegas!
Prior to the beginning of the official Olympia weekend, the IFBB holds a pro qualifying competition on Wednesday and Thursday at the Showroom of the Orleans Hotel and Casino. Athletes from all over the globe are invited to compete and vie for professional status in all open divisions. This year was the deepest and most talented lineup of competitors I have even seen in this event, with some classes having 40+ people in them.
I personally had three clients competing, one of which was Mark Durando (bodybuilding and classic physique), who has been an ALLMAX ambassador for almost 2 years now. Mark also worked full time at the ALLMAX booth and did an awesome job helping customers and assisting with all of the contests and giveaways we had over the weekend. Kim Bridges, who took first place in master’s bikini in a big show back in July also stepped onstage and finished in the middle of the pack in the largest class in the entire event. I am also happy to announce that after I introduced her to our head of athletes, Sarah Fowler, she was selected to also become part of Team ALLMAX as an ambassador and influencer. Congratulations Kim! Finally, big Matt Cook made his return to the stage (after a 2-year hiatus) as a heavyweight and made a huge impact by placing in the top 10 of the most competitive class in open men’s bodybuilding.
Although I have met a few members of Team ALLMAX through the years, such as Josh Wade, Sarah Fowler and Ashley Wiens, this was the first time I have ever worked the booth at a major event. Thus, it was also the first time I was able to meet (in person) just about all of the members of this amazing team of athletes, salespeople, managers, and social media contributors. Everyone was extremely welcoming, enthusiastic, excited and full of energy. In fact, the booth was “electric,” and each member of the team contributed in their own unique way that created a positive atmosphere for not only each other, but every person that made their way to the ALLMAX booth. I was lucky enough to have had time to chat with everyone on the team, so as to get to know them better and make sure they knew they had my support at all times. ALLMAX is not only a team, but even more so like a “family.” And this is a huge part of what makes this such an incredible company.
If you are a fan and user of ALLMAX products, you are likely aware that I am the creator of the Lean & Mean 8-Week Transformation challenge, which has taken this industry by storm over the last two years. (To learn more, go to www.allmaxtraining.com). My main purpose for attending the Olympia weekend and working at the booth was to promote the contest and help consumers understand just how comprehensive the Lean and Mean program is, what they can expect by following it, and how/why I developed it specifically for ALLAMX and this awesome 8-week challenge. The main points I wanted to convey to potential registrants was that the workout, diet, and supplementation protocol I designed is very similar to those I use with my elite, personal clients from all over the globe. Anyone who commits themselves to participating in Lean and Mean not only has the chance to win over $2,500 worth of prizes, but more importantly, to completely transform his/her physique in the most efficient and rapid manner possible.
One of my favorite things about working at the ALLMAX booth over Olympia weekend was being a part of all of the excitement and the watching the constant influx of people who wanted to take photos, discuss our supplements, and participate in our giveaway contests. There truly never was a dull moment at the booth from morning till evening, as everyone on the team remained fully engaged and never “took their foot off the gas pedal.” Consumers literally lined up to test their limits at push-ups, dips, squats and pull-ups in order to win a plethora of products and samples. And regardless of whether one could only do 10 reps or 100, the crowd (and ALLMAX athletes) cheered them on and applauded their efforts. The camaraderie was simply awesome to see.
As usual, there was a huge demand to sample and purchase some of our most their popular supplements, such as IMPACT PUMP/IGNITER, ISOFLEX, AMINOCORE and A-CUTS. I could not begin to tell you how many small sample cups we went through to try and keep up with all of the people who wanted a taste. However, the biggest “craze” at the show came from the brand new HEXAPRO Protein POPCORN, which is available in two incredible flavors (for now) – Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Chocolate Peanut Butter. I must admit, I found myself munching on this tasty protein snack over and over during my time at the booth, all while handing out samples to consumers left and right. In fact, HEXAPRO Protein POPCORN is so good, I snacked on it the whole way home from Las Vegas to LA (yummy!).
Finally, I would like to tell you about the biggest highlight for me while at the Expo, which was when I was asked to do an exclusive interview with big Steve Kuclo, the day after prejudging at the Mr. Olympia – and before he stepped onstage for the finals. It was so exciting to ask Steve how he felt about making the first callout for the first time at the biggest bodybuilding contest on earth, and to discuss his mindset before it was time to battle it out at night. Steve is very humble, and at the same time very intense. It was both and honor and privilege to speak with him. Watch for the full interview coming soon right here on allmaxnutrition.com.
I just want to say thank you to EVERYONE at Team ALLMAX for simply being AWESOME! Thank you for asking me to be at the Olympia to represent this wonderful company, and for making me feel so welcome. And also, thank you to everyone who came by the booth, whether you are already a loyal consumer of the brand or if you are new to ALLMAX and wanted to learn more about the products and our athletes.
