Avocado Dip

Although avocados are often feared for their high fat content, the avocado is nothing to be scared of!

Avocado DipIn fact, the avocado should be relished into every diet. Yes, they are high in fat, but the kind of fat that has impeccable health promoting properties. That is monounsaturated fat, the kind of fat that lowers cholesterol.

Oddly, avocados are considered a fruit. They are a good source of vitamin K, C, and B6, as well as dietary fiber, copper, and they contain more potassium than a banana! Avocados have an incredibly rich and buttery flavor, making them perfect additions to spicy fare, salads, or in replacement of butter. Try incorporating them into smoothies, salsas, or into our Avocado Dip.


  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese
  • 1 tbsp. lime juice
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp. salsa


Mix all ingredients together in a magic bullet or blender. Cover and refrigerate until needed. Can be used as a dip for veggies and pitas or as a sandwich spread. You can also turn this dip into a salad dressing by adding 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
