Breakfast Powerhouse Protein Smoothie

New evidence is showing that egg yolks are not as bad as once believed.

Breakfast Powerhouse Protein Smoothie

Most bodybuilders are very aware of their protein and cholesterol intake and avoid eating whole eggs, turning to egg whites whey protein isolates as the ideal solution; however, if you’re not eating your yolks, you could be missing out.

As a complete protein, eggs offer a superb protein-and-nutrient ratio to your diet, with the yolks holding most of the goods with vitamins and minerals like A, D and E, phosphorus, maganese, iron, iodine, copper, calcium and zinc, Omega-3, and are one of the richest sources of choline – essential for liver and heart health.

Here’s a recipe for the perfect breakfast smoothie that you can try next time. If you’re afraid to use raw eggs, buy pasteurized eggs instead.

  • 4 oz almond milk
  • 2 oz pasteurized whole eggs
  • 2 scoops Isoflex whey protein isolate (vanilla)
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened, organic apple sauce
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 ice cubes

Combine and mix all ingredients well in a blender. Serve and enjoy.
