Bio

Hailing from Warman, Saskatchewan, IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Vince Wawryk is a Journeyman Lineman for SaskPower.
Born in Saskatoon on March 1969, a somewhat scrawny but otherwise healthy Vincent Wawryk came into the world, the younger of two sons born to Orest and Pauline. While being the apple of his parents’ eyes, Vince idolized his older brother Shawn. Surprisingly, Shawn didn’t mind and they were the best of friends…still are.
Throughout his childhood, Vince was very active in sports, mainly hockey and football. After making the football team, Vince picked up his first dumbbell in a high school gym to add a little size and strength. Here, he found that he liked what he saw, and began to focus on his physique. Instead of using the weights to get stronger and to prevent being run over by the big guys on the football field, he began to put on some muscle.
The rest is history…
Vince began reading everything he could get his hands on about the sport of bodybuilding. Through the manipulation of his diet and varying training strategies, he began to put on muscle in all the right places.
After graduating, Vince attended SIAST Kelsey Campus for Power Engineering. Shortly thereafter, he was hired on at Saskpower. Bound to start his new career, Vince packed up his gym gear, protein powders and a couple boxes of Flex magazine and headed south to Estevan.
Family is ever important to Vince and he found living so far away to be a burden on his heart. After nearly three years in Estevan, he moved back to Saskatoon to be closer to his family and his girlfriend Tracy. Vince and Tracy were married in 1996. They have four children, all boys, with the youngest being twins. After a 10-year stint in Prince Albert, they now reside in Warman.
Through the chaos of work, raising four kids, coaching hockey, moving and the failing health of his father, Vince never put the dumbbells down. He entered his first bodybuilding contest in 1991. In the past 20 years Vince has dedicated his life to the sport. He works hard, researches information constantly, studies nutrition, he eats, eats, and eats some more. Vince is constantly tweaking his diets, supplements, training, posing and attitude to be the best that he can be.
His motto has always been – Compete Against Yourself
He tells clients not to worry about somebody else on stage. Work towards doing better than you did the time before and if you do that, you will learn to grow and ultimately achieve your goal.
And that, ladies and gentleman, is how Vince has come to be the 2007 Canadian National Champion of Body Building and an IFBB Pro.

FAQ

An Interview with Vince
Favorite Type of Training: I am a volume trainer, doing anywhere from 22 to 30 sets per body part. I am lifting as heavy and controlled as possible 4 days per week – legs; chest + triceps; back; shoulders + biceps. It is not uncommon to leg press 1000 lb or squat 500, bench press 365 for 20 reps.
Favorite Cheat Food: I would have to say a good burger and fries.
Favorite Diet Food: Fillet of steak – whether I cook it myself or go out – it tops the list.
Favorite Exercise at Gym: Flat bench press
What’s in your Gym Bag? iPod, weight belt, wrist straps, towel, training log, water, knee wraps, Aminocore, training shoes.
What Do you Like to Do Outside the Gym? Watch my kids’ sports, ride my Harley, everything I do is based on the fitness industry.
How Did you get into Fitness: I got involved with the gym to get stronger for hockey and high school football. I noticed my body taking on a different look, so I tried competing. I won, and the rest is history.
What Do you Love to Listen to when you Work Out: I listen to pretty much everything – Metallica, Iron Maiden, KidRock, ACDC, Ozzy and even some country tunes.
Biggest Gym Pet Peeve: People not putting their weights away in the proper place.
Upcoming Contests: Orlando, New York and Toronto
What Does Being an ALLMAX Sponsored Athlete Mean to You? I have been involved in the industry for quite some time. I have owned and operated my own store and I have competed many times.
I am very honored and excited to be part of the ALLMAX Team. To be the best in the sport of bodybuilding requires quality products and a research team to keep bringing the best of the best so I can keep achieving my goals. ALLMAX does this and more.
I am working on my 3rd year with ALLMAX and they continue to bring out new supplements. Not just average supplements either. They put the science and the innovation to work on a daily basis, providing the best, well-balanced nutrition supplements on the market today.
I get to use the ALLMAX brand on a daily basis. Check out the supplements I use. Many times I am asked the question, can I use those supplements too even though I don’t bodybuild? My answer is, of course you can. These supplements are for everyone.
The health benefits from using these products are very beneficial to the health of the body. I have worked or trained people with high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid, injuries and more. There are some huge benefits to supplementing your diet with proper nutrition. ALLMAX has a variety of products on the market. There is one for everyone.
What is your Favorite, MUST-HAVE ALLMAX Supplement: It’s very hard to narrow it down to just one, but I’d have to say ALLWHEY 3-Stage Whey Protein Matrix. If you do not provide your body with enough protein, all the hard work you do in the gym is for nothing. Protein is the building blocks of muscle. Without protein, your body becomes very catabolic. ALLWhey is a combination whey, so it releases over a longer period of time, providing amino acids to the muscles all day. I am currently using upwards of 10 lb of ALLWhey per month, along with ISOFLEX Whey Protein Isolate.
