Born on the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago, raised in Toronto, Canada by loving mother Patricia, father Anthony and sibling Jason.

Mark Anthony turned an IFBB Men’s Physique Pro at the 2011 North American’s in Cleveland, Ohio by winning his class. Since then, Mark has exploded onto the pro stage. In the first half of 2012, Mark Anthony made Men’s Physique history by successfully winning 3 consecutive IFBB Pro shows – LA Pro Grand Prix, Orlando Europa Pro Super Show and then earning his “Trifecta in Tribeca” at the prestigious New York Pro. Mark has been featured in several international publications such as Muscular Development Magazine, Fitness RX for Men Magazine, Inside Fitness Magazine, FLEX Magazine, Muscle & Fitness, the NPC News and more.

Mark Anthony is coached by the GURU George Farah and under the tutelage of none other than 4 time Mr. Olympia and best friend Jay Cutler. Being a personal trainer and contest prep coach for years, Mark has created a Men’s Physique team called THE NEW BREED. A nickname Jay gave him after earning his IFBB Pro card. Mark Anthony currently coaches 3 top ranked IFBB Pro Men’s Physique athletes on his roster, along with several NPC national level competitors.

Mark Anthony’s eyes and heart are set on becoming the first ever Men’s Physique Mr. Olympia. The kid with the big dream of one day becoming an IFBB Pro is now living his dream, by the grace of God, and the will to never surrender.

What Do you Like to Do Outside of the Gym?
I like to attend most NPC & IFBB contests nation wide which includes traveling to different cities. I also like to go shopping at the Forum Shoppes in Caesar’s Palace, go to the movies, hang out with friends & loved ones, watch UFC here in Vegas. I also love to venture to the Wynn Buffet on Cheat days & attend my amazing service on Sundays at Central Christian Church.

How Did you get into Fitness?
My Father was my biggest inspiration to get involved with fitness.

What Do you Love to Listen to when you Work Out?
My I Pod consists of a lot of hip hop and a ton of house music dj’s podcasts. Maybe a lil R&B to slow things down

Biggest Gym Pet Peeve
Smelly people is my biggest pet peeve in the gym or people that still try to talk to me during an intense workout while wearing the biggest Beats By Dr Dre head phones ever made.

Training Plan

Mark Anthony’s Training Plan

I don’t train in a standard manner. Instead I perform 4 Giant Sets of 4 exercises with no rest in between sets until the circuit of 4 exercises is completed. Reps are in the 15-20 range. Fast, intense and heavy. I train 2 days on and 1 day off. So workouts fall on different days of the week.

Here is a sample upper body workout.

Giant Set 1 – Chest

  • Incline Bar or Dumbell Press
  • Flat Dumbbell Flyes
  • Flat Dumbbell Press
  • Cable Crossover

To Finish:
Flat Barbell Press; German volume, 10 sets of 10 reps

Giant Set 2 – Back

  • Wide-grip Chin-ups
  • Reverse Narrow-grip Pulldowns
  • Bent-over Rows
  • Wide-grip seated cable rows

To Finish:
Smith Machine, Romanian Deadlifts; German volume, 10 sets of 10 reps
